A DO's desk
Here we talk about the relationship between shoes and spectacles. We look at these through two different lenses.
Fashion lens
Most people have different pair of shoes in terms of fashion. They own a pair that match the different cloths and accessories they wear. Sometimes the comfort is taking lesser importance compared to the look and the fashion appeal. The fashion forward personality type are focused on deciding based on look, not based on balance. Due to the higher prioritisation of fashion, there is a good chance the wearer will force themselves to somehow manage with the pair of shoes.
Spectacles can be compared similarly or at-least that is what I have gathered from my experience. We would have come across some people who wear glasses but does not need them necessarily, some people prefer a particular style of frame even though they are not the best fit for their glasses or lens prescription.
Practical lens
This category is made up of those who like to wear a pair of shoes that feel comfortable. Even the slightest discomfort, can lead to them investigating what is wrong and even changing the pair of shoes.
In glasses, this is most common. If you are not comfortable with your new glasses, then it is difficult to function well at whatever visual task you do. The customer will make sure that the glasses feel right no matter what the reason and they are not brand influenced in most cases. On the contrary, they would pay a premium for the most practical and comfortable pair of glasses.
In both types, the customer may have more than one pair of glasses that work well for a particular task. For example, if they spend several hours in front of a computer, then they will prefer a dedicated intermediate pair of glasses or an occupational lens design.
Adaptation
In this second type, adaptation is more key than the first type. In the first category, the fashion-conscious user, will somehow get on with this pair of glasses, however in the second category, the customer will only be happy once they have adjusted to the new pair of glasses.
At Specsonweb, we make sure that we take the extra step to ask you several questions regarding your lifestyle, work and hobbies so we can give you the option of the right pair of glasses whatever the category of wearer you fit into most.
